The US tour really opened on August 15th with a concert scheduled in New York at the Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets baseball team. This was the first time in the history of music that a stadium was used for a rock concert ! Seen by 55,600 fans, it created a new world record for a pop concert in terms of attendance and gross revenue. The Beatles' share of the $304,000 box-office takings was also a record - $160,000.

John Lennon talking to the fans at 3:45. OMG too funny, first gibberish knowing no one can hear him anyway, then "and it's also off Beayles VI or something... I don't really know what it's off... I haven't got it" (laughs to others about the American repackaging inside joke) then "it's a waltz, this one, remember that! Anyway, the song is called, hopefully enough..." Then a girl runs across the field and he comments "ahh, lookee there, look at that!"It just doesn't get funnier

Who is this jackass reporter who keeps trying to pour cold water all over the Beatles as their fans defend them wonderfully?I really wonder who he is and what great mark he made in HIS career? This is the kind of crap the Beatles dealt with ALL THE TIME.

Wonderful. George's solo on "I'm Down" rocked with tasteful string bending, I wish the camera had focused on him there(John's elbow slide on the organ shot instead). Paul is just fucking over the top, incredible.Great to see and hear again!Thank you for posting!
